PA Suicide Prevention/Awareness Day At the Capitol

Prevent Suicide PA will host Suicide Prevention Day at the Pennsylvania State Capitol on September 25, 2019 from 1:00-2:30 pm.  Join suicide prevention advocates, suicide attempt and loss survivors, legislators, and mental health professionals for an important day at the Capitol. We will be raising awareness for suicide prevention and offering hope on the steps of the Capitol Rotunda. Display tables will provide free information such as brochures, resources, wristbands, gun locks, etc.

According to the latest statistics, 2030 people died by suicide in Pennsylvania, which averages approximately 5 per day.  In PA, suicide is the 2^nd leading cause of death between ages 15-24, the 3^rd leading cause of death between ages 35-44 and 4^th leading cause of death between ages 45-54.   

Prevent Suicide PA, is a statewide, nonprofit organization solely dedicated to preventing suicide in Pennsylvania.  Our Mission: Provide education and collaborate with the community to prevent Suicide, reduce the stigma associated with Suicide and support those touched by Suicide.  www.preventsuicidepa.org
