For the past 7 years, Prevent Suicide PA has engaged youth in the Commonwealth in helping to spread the word that suicide is preventable, by inviting them to participate in a PSA contest for youth suicide prevention. We have seen how students have used this PSA contest to learn more about youth suicide prevention in their planning process, as well as educate their peers through their exceptional work. With national and local rates continuing to slowly rise, it is more important than ever that youth receive prevention messages geared specifically for them, and we hope that you will join us in the spreading awareness of prevention efforts and resources.
On May 4, we are partnering with the Pittsburgh Pirates for Suicide Prevention Night at the Ballpark. Prior to the game, students have the opportunity to be recognized on the field for their efforts and one of the PSAs will be displayed on the jumbo screen. Prevent Suicide PA will also have a table on the concourse with resources and information. We are looking for your help in spreading the word about this important event. Come out and watch the Pirates take on the Oakland Athletics while raising awareness for suicide prevention. Visit www.pirates.come/stopsuicide - $5 from each ticket goes towards suicide prevention in PA.
We hope you will join us, and feel free to spread the word!
