2018 Meeting the Challenge – Pennsylvania’s Education for Children and Youth Experiencing Homelessness Program Statewide Conference

The conference will provide valuable information for educators, homeless liaisons, shelter personnel, educators, pupil services personnel, guidance counselors, social workers and other professionals working with students experiencing homelessness.

Topics will include integration of the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015; responsibilities of school district homeless liaisons; Pennsylvania’s Education for Homeless Youth Basic Education Circular; components of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act; effective identification and use of school and community resources to remove barriers to learning related to homeless situations; and best practices, programs, services and collaborative strategies to better serve students and their families who are experiencing homelessness.
