Webinar Description:  This webinar will take a look at the many types of student situations and concerns that are appropriate to run through the SAP Process at your school. We will look at how to express concerns through observable behavior language and ensure we are communicating concerns properly. Also, we will look at how SAP can be a resource in your school for other school based initiatives like Truancy and Alternative Education needs.

Presenter: Alicia Lenart, Lead Student Assistance Program Specialist is part of the Student Assistance Department at Caron Treatment Centers since 1999. She is a Student Assistance Coordinator for Exeter Township Senior High School, and over the last 15 years has provided SAP services to every school district in Berks County. She also provides Student Assistance Program Training and is an approved Lead Trainer for the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Prior to Caron, Alycia worked at Berks Women in Crisis, for five years and helped to develop and implement their prevention department PeaceWorks. She is earned her bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies with a double major in social work and child psychology through Radford University.

Co-Presenter: Terrie Taylor, LSW has 20 years of experience working with children and adolescents.  She started her career in public child welfare, working with children in foster care, matching eligible children with adoptive families, and supervising other caseworkers.  She has also worked as a Behavioral Specialist with autistic children, collaborating with families and educators to help meet their needs.  As a licensed social worker, Terrie has provided outpatient therapy services for various community agencies.  She has worked as a SAP specialist with Caron Treatment Centers since 2013.
